General Purpose of Job : The RN Staff Nurse is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment / instrumentation, and other health care team members. Assigns and directs the work of related staff. Knowledge, Skills and Experience : Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Michigan Registered Professional Nurse licensure required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) provider—required. Endoscopy RN: Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider preferred. Must obtain ACLS certification within 60 days of hire or placement in the unit. Level 4/Level 5 RN: Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider preferred. Must obtain ACLS certification within one year of hire or placement in the unit. Level 4/Level 5 RN: Competence in basic cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation required, will train. Paid Dialysis Training Tuition Reimbursement Fulltime PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents and to coordinate total nursing care for residents; for participating with the Director of Nursing and the Unit Managers in establishing specific goals; for ensuring compliance with all operating policies and procedures and Michigan Department of Health regulations and Federal Health Care Administration regulations; for communicating with and supervising appropriate personnel; for providing daily reports and other periodic reports; and for performing all the duties of a Certified Nurse Aide when required. About the unit Our Visiting Nurses Association is our Home Care Skilled Nursing Team for West-Central areas of Michigan. We are accepting applications from experienced RN’s, LPN's, and New Grads! For experienced RN’s this is an autonomous position that drives you to use all of your top nursing skills and critical thinking. Working in home health enables you to treat the patient in the comfort of their home, where patients are able to thrive and own their own health care. We create personalized assignments close to home that enable our nurses to visit between 5-7 patients per shift.
