The Clinical Nurse on G17 Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. This unit is focused on nigh shift; 7pm-7am, with rotating weekends and holidays required. Weekends are considered Saturday & Sunday. Job Summary and Qualifications What you will do in this role: You will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the admission process. You will be responsible for coordinating care and collaborating with other departments to ensure positive patient outcomes and that all of the needs of the patients and significant others are met. You will be responsible for the administration of medications, knowledge of actions, indications, adverse reactions, dosage, and route. Also, must reassess patients for effectiveness of medication and document appropriately. You will coordinate discharge planning/case management services from the Observation Unit. You will maintain clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers. Practice excellent customer service at all times. What qualifications you will need: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date).
