The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit. Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients. Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures. Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint. Measure, record, and document vital signs. Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider. Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures. Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers. Represent the office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner. Participate in team activities and professional development activities. Attend required meetings. Demonstrate and embody the Women’s Care mission and core values. Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment. To be eligible for employment and to obtain an MA certification, you must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge. Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training. Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable. Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions. Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally. Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups. Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Overview T he Registered Nurse Float I provides individualized nursing care services within the standards of nursing practice: assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, evaluation, and patient health education. This Registered Nurse will float between the ICU, CVU and Med/Surg unit. Responsibilities Incumbents in this position will: Perform accurate and complete assessments on patients within established time frames; requests consult as indicated. Establishes and updates a patient plan of care based on periodic assessments. Assists with providing for the physical comfort and safety of patients (i.e. bath and linen changes, administration of medication(s), dietary intake, and other necessary treatments). Ensures security of patient’s personal items and reports discrepancies to supervisor in a timely fashion. Attend rounds with physicians as indicated, assist with exams, discuss patient progress. Review and implement physician’s orders. Provide concise bedside report regarding patients' status to the on-coming shift. Demonstrates the proper procedure for obtaining, charging for, and returning supplies/equipment and maintains adequate supply levels through the use of accurate inventory control. Obtains and verifies consent forms. Supervises and gives assignments to the staff assigned to his/her patients. Overview The Registered Nurse Supervisor will provide supervision and evaluate clinical staff (RN, LPN, MA, tech, and CCA) and participate in the evaluation of clerical staff in collaboration with their documented supervisor.
