Nurse Manager - Rehab Hospital - Center Valley

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network has opened a state-of-the-art, 76-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that will revolutionize treatment and recovery options for people with complex medical conditions, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury and other serious injuries or illnesses. The four-story, 123,000-square-foot facility on Center Valley Parkway features all private rooms and offers world-class physical rehabilitation care to patients who are recovering from complex and catastrophic conditions. One of the most novel and exciting spaces to spur innovation in Good Shepherd’s new hospital is Empower+. JOB SUMMARY Plan, direct, or coordinate the daily patient/resident care activities in a clinical environment. Ensure adherence to established clinical policies, protocols, regulations, and standards. The Nurse Manager has the 24-hour responsibility and is accountable for nursing practice in his/her patient care/resident unit. This position reports to the Director of Nursing of the site, The Nurse Manager will foster the mission and core values of the GSRN in their daily practice. The Department Nurse Manager performs supervisory responsibilities for nurses across shifts on an assigned unit(s) at a facility on a consistent basis. Collaborates with physicians, other health care personnel and interdepartmental personnel to ensure that the mission and objectives of the facility’s health program are realized. Maintains the standards of nursing practice/care and actualizes the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Service to staff, inmates and families. Duties include: Assists in interpreting and translating the theoretical concepts of nursing into the delivery of nursing services for adults (18 to 64 years) and geriatrics (65+) inmates within the Department of Corrections. Assists in the participation of the structuring of organized nursing services. Implements nursing functions within the context of UCHC. Uses information systems to retrieve, implement and retain essential records and services. Directs and supervises nursing and health care services in the context of the service. Provides for cost-effective use of resources and participates in budget preparation in the context of a unit. Assists with orientations and development of self, staff and nursing students. Participates and provides leadership in quality assurance and quality improvement activities and provides training to staff and correctional officers.
