Purpose of Your Job Position The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. Education Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education. Experience Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of this state. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Overview Provides mental health assessment of and treatment to patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive deficits, and/or behavioral problems. Provides support and education to VNS Health staff and caregivers to enable them to better care for patients with psychiatric, cognitive and/or behavioral problems.
