CCS is a long-standing and nationally regarded inpatient service in Pediatric Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Pediatrics that serves hospitalized children with medical complexity, who have complex chronic conditions and functional limitations. Common reasons for admission to CCS include infections (aspiration pneumonia, pyelonephritis), chronic condition exacerbations (epilepsy, digestive dysmotility), and post-operative recovery following surgery (baclofen pump placement, gastrostomy, spinal fusion, etc.). Report problem areas to the Director of Nursing. Assist in developing and implementing corrective action. Attend and participate in continuing education programs to remain current with standards of nursing practice and to maintain licensure requirements.
