COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE II FLOAT NURSE (PART-TIME CONTRACTUAL)

GRADE 19 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Carroll County Health Department Westminster, MD 21157 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this part-time contractual position is to provide direct nursing care to patients in local health department clinics and community settings. This position will be responsible for providing support as well as direct patient care, primarily in the AERS (Assessments, Evaluation, and Review Services), NM (Nurse Monitoring) and CFC (Community First Choice) programs. This position will also be assigned to provide clinical support and/or program support to any other Community Health Services Bureau program, including Health Education’s HOW (Health on Wheels) community engagement events. Minimum Qualifications Education : A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Experience : None. Notes Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Desired Or Preferred Qualifications The desired candidate should possess the following: 1. Experience conducting in-home evaluations. 2. Experience completing evaluations in facility settings (e.g., hospital, nursing home or psychiatric hospital). 3. Experience working with individuals who have mental health conditions. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. Special Requirements Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached. Benefits Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year. FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS Online applications are highly recommended.
