Description Nursing Req #: 71851 This is a Bargaining Unit Position Job Posting Date: 3/27/2026 6 Positions available This is a Clinical Nurse I vacancy open to candidates with 0 – 1 year of RN work experience R6 is a dynamic 24-bed neurosurgical / trauma unit with an embedded 9-bed neuro-focused Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Bean 2 is a fast-paced 12-bed Total Joint Center. This position offers the R6/B2 RN an opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a supportive environment as an integral member of a collaborative team of highly trained staff. The R6 patient population includes adults and older adolescents with neurological and orthopedic conditions including closed head injuries, strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, multi-traumas, and conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention. RNs providing care in the R6 IMC demonstrate astute assessment and critical thinking skills, as patients in IMC often have multi-system issues that require telemetry monitoring, intra-cranial pressure monitoring, medication drips, frequent intervention, or other higher acuity care needs. The Bean 2 patient population consists of adults who have undergone joint replacement surgeries. This unit serves as the Joint Center for our nationally recognized and Joint Commission accredited joint replacement program. The RN on Bean 2 coordinates important milestones of care for each patient’s visit to facilitate a timely and safe discharge. Description MaineHealth Cancer Care, Blood Disorders and IV Therapy, a member of MaineHealth Medical Group, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Associate (PA) to join our inpatient consult team at Maine Medical Center Portland. This is a four 10-hour day position that will primarily support the inpatient hematology oncology consult service, working collaboratively with attending physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. Additional responsibilities include supporting the dedicated inpatient hematologic malignancy service through assistance with procedures and patient coverage as needed, within a collaborative academic and clinical environment alongside a dedicated oncology team. Qualifications Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure as a Physician Associate or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Current BLS certification This Position Offers Competitive compensation package including sign-on bonus and relocation assistance to qualified candidates, CME expense reimbursement, and malpractice insurance.
