They will be responsible for the acute care of pediatric patients and shall assess the physical and psychological status of the patient by means of history, physical exam and diagnostic tests. They will be expected to follow clinical protocols, complete appropriate documentation for all medical encounters, to be cosigned and reviewed by the attending physician, perform routine pediatric emergency medicine procedures, including but not limited to suturing, splinting, phlebotomy, and urethral catheterizations, and write prescriptions in accordance with Federal and New York State Law.
