RN Supervisor Responsibilities Include: Assure that effective quality nursing care is delivered which is outcome focused through utilization of the nursing process. Identify needs and provide input for discharge planning and follow-up throughout length of stay. Be point person for admissions during off hours, including providing tours, welcoming new families, and residents, ensuring a smooth and comfortable admission experience. Implement plan of care consistently, effectively and cost efficiently with focus on resident centered outcomes Work in collaboration with physicians and/or other health care professionals by sharing information relevant to changing plan of care. Deliver and maintain optimum resident care and comfort by demonstrating knowledge and skills of current nursing practices. Will supervise and coordinate Charge, Treatment and CNA assignments and activities in an assigned unit and shift. Will ensure timely communication of current treatment & assessment information, efficient delivery of services and timely compilation of new information. Will monitor and evaluate staff activities to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed, and treatment administered in accordance with treatment plans and physician’s instructions. Any other tasks as assigned by the DNS RN Supervisor Qualifications/Requirements: Current NYS RN (Registered Nurse) license. Experience preferred. The Wound Care and Ostomy Nurse will report to the Program Director of the Wound Care Center (WCC)®, as well as maintaining a dotted line reporting structure to the Senior Director of Inpatient Services with Healogics. The responsibility and accountability for day-to-day patient care will continue to rest with the individual nurse responsible for the patient, unit-based resource nurses and the Nurse Manager of each unit. Position Summary To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Education Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certifications BLS, ACLS & PALS and unit-based orientation. Schedule: Full Time Day shift with every other Saturday. Experience Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. RN with procedural experience is a plus, IV skills. Skills Physical and cognitive requirements: Position& physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as Very Heavy Work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH0 guidelines, which recommends that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance, will be followed. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also required as is constant talking and listening in English. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity, understanding the information relayed, deductive and inductive reasoning skills (the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense and the ability to combine pieces of information to/from general rules or conclusion respectively). Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing and photocopying required. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing needs of patients with acute, chronic and complex and/or terminal disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively within health system, multidisciplinary team members (i.e. Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory, etc). Ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities to perform responsibilities, problem solve and deliver care. POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospital Operations Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes operational accountability for a specified shift. On a 24/7 basis, this individual shall have primary responsibility for human resource management, operational management, in the absence of the unit manager, as well as acting on behalf of the Hospital President in the absence of the Executive Staff and Department Directors and Managers. While on duty, the Hospital Operations Supervisor holds the ultimate responsibility for administrative and operational decision making. This is accomplished by demonstrating knowledge of appropriate resource utilization and the established chain of command. EDUCATION: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred. SCHEDULE: 7:00AM- 3:30 PM, every other weekend EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required. Previous managerial/progressive supervisory experience preferred.
