Overview About the Role Participates as an essential member of the healthcare team by providing clinical lactation therapy for patients. Provides education and consultative services related to breastfeeding. Serves as a resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in order to promote optimal patient care. Designs and provides patient and staff education programs. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Initiates and receives referrals from physicians, nursing staff, and patients. Develops, implements, and evaluates an educational plan for patients requiring lactation services. Assesses the educational needs of the breastfeeding mother and family. Identifies an individual plan to meet the breastfeeding mother’s needs. Assures that lactation services are provided in a timely manner. Provides direct patient care lactation service to patients. Performs in-patient consultations at the bedside and out-patient consultations, as necessary. Provides individual teaching and group classes to breastfeeding patients and families. Documents Breastfeeding Education and related Patient Assessment. Records teaching and progress on appropriate documentation. Submits accurate and timely documentation of billable services. Educates, guides, assists, and serves as a resource to nursing staff, other members of the healthcare team and community who provide care to breastfeeding mothers. Develops teaching plans and curriculum for patient education programs on breastfeeding. Assists with educational programs and consultation/support for the nursing staff. Assists in the development and/or review of all literature related to infant feeding that is distributed to patients in the hospital. Confers regularly, when appropriate, with the relevant obstetrician, pediatrician, and nursing staff member on each patient’s special needs and progress in breastfeeding. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree required. Currently Certified as a Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. At least one (1) year of work or volunteer related lactation education counseling experience required. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist (Certified Registered) position is to administeranesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; (3) post-anesthesia care; and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. Initiates the discharge plan and documents interventions; updates care plan weekly; confirms Face Sheet information; assures proper hand off for transfers; communicates discharge plan to new case manager; assesses need for referrals to outside resources; obtains authorizations for Home Care, Home IV infusion and DMEs; coordinates forms or electronic referrals; arranges transportation; meets departmental performance expectations for home care/hospice and equipment; confirms services and contact information. Identifies readmissions within 30 days; performs walking rounds and identifies high‑risk patients; works with Social Work and utilization management to reduce LOS and prevent denials; coordinates and manages distribution of IMM and assists with MOON; conducts or co‑leads care coordination rounds; promotes working relationship with patient/family; acts as advocate; works closely with Social Work and utilization management; serves as a resource regarding patient classification and reimbursement. Demonstrates competency with computer programs; achieves Department Team Dashboard Score Card goals; escalates avoidable days; completes mandatory trainings and in‑services; demonstrates knowledge of safety, security and infection control risks; participates in quality improvement by collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends and suggesting improvements; participates on clinical process improvement teams. Demonstrates commitment to excellent customer service; will rotate on weekends to provide coverage; understands and adheres to University Hospital compliance standards; keeps abreast of pertinent federal, state and hospital regulations, laws, and policies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications What You’ll Bring: Registered Nurse with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a health care related fieldrequired. Master’s degree in Nursing or Health Care related field preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of acute care hospital clinical experience required. Case management certification from either CCM, ACMA or RN-BC preferred. Recent experience in case management, home health, utilization review, and or unit clinical specialty required. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Demonstrates resourcefulness, effective written and oral communication, negotiating and analytical skills. Overview About the Role The Clinic Nurse Manager is an experienced clinical leader responsible for managing assigned areas and multiple services within the assigned practice, supervising assigned patient care personnel during clinic operations. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, policies, and procedures. The Clinic Nurse Manager is seen as an expert in clinical practice topics and is proficient in personnel management and directs care to meet the unit demands in an efficient and cost-effective manner, as well as assisting with clinic budget management. This position reports to the Administrative Director of the practice and the Executive Director Clinical Operations. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Maintains nursing and clinical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures within the assigned practice in the Ambulatory Care Center. “Owns” clinic operations and exercises broad oversight for clinic patient throughput, provider performance, and clinical and/or support services. Maintains accountability for daily staffing patterns and appropriate skill mix to support the practice’s volume and acuity. Assures quality of care by ensuring adherence to state board of nursing practice act requirements and other governing agency regulations including National Patient Safety Goals, measuring health outcomes against standards, and making or recommending adjustments in practice. Facilitates a culture of safety and accountability through the application of Just Culture. Maintains a collaborative relationship with key ancillary departments serving the Pediatrics population. Maintains clinic supply inventory by studying usage reports, identifying trends, anticipating needed supplies, approving requisition and cost allocations. Measures patient, physician and employee satisfaction and develops and implements plans to improve satisfaction in collaboration with the team. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, a Master’s Degree (MSN) preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required. BLS (CPR) is required. Certification as an Ambulatory Nurse (RN-BC) is desirable and preferred within two (2) years of hire. Must have the ability to lead a team and maintain maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Strong oral and written communication skills, and exceptional customer service skills required. Responsibilities The OB Scrub Technician provides direct care to obstetrical/neonatal patient under the direct supervision of a licensed RN. The OB Scrub Technician performs the role of surgical scrub for obstetrically related surgical procedures. Maintains aseptic environment during set-up for surgery or delivery and throughout surgical procedures. Responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment throughout the Labor and Delivery Suite, including Recovery and Operating Rooms. Assists with perioperative care as outlined in the policy and procedure manuals. Assist with deliveries, as necessary. Assists with other aspects of unit operations as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Program. Certified as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent required. AHA CPR required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Must maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance. Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with physicians and fellow workers. Must pay attention to detail. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Must be self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner. Must work in air-conditioned environment with temperature of 65-73 degrees and humidity of 45-55%. When assigned to pediatric cases, temperature may be up to 85-90 degrees F. Must wear hospital provided scrub attire while on duty. Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains and exposure to contagious disease via and body fluids. Potential for exposure to anesthesia waste gases, ethylene oxide, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, high steam pressure agents and radiation.
