Key Responsibilities · Manage and follow patients on the GI consult service, including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, ongoing management, and discharge coordination in collaboration with supervising physicians. · Evaluate hospitalized children with gastrointestinal and nutritional conditions, including feeding difficulties, gastroesophageal reflux, constipation, diarrhea, malnutrition, hepatobiliary disorders, enteral access needs, and evaluation for surgical feeding tube placement. · Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds on the GI consult service. · Collaborate with primary inpatient teams and consultants to coordinate timely, thoughtful, and family-centered GI care. · Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, trainees, and other healthcare providers. · Contribute to education of residents, fellows, medical students, nurses, patients, and families regarding GI conditions, enteral nutrition, and feeding tube management. · Participate in development and evaluation of departmental standards, policies, and procedures supporting high-quality, cost-effective care. · Contribute, based on interest and experience, to evidence-based practice, research, publications, presentations, and other scholarly or programmatic initiatives within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. · Work collaboratively and flexibly with the inpatient GI team, adapting to changing patient volumes, clinical priorities, and service needs while maintaining continuity of care. Schedule · 40 hours/wk, 10 hour day shifts from 8am-6:30pm (with flexibility for 7:30am-6:00pm). · Weekend coverage up to every 3 weekends.
