Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to provide direct patient care, perform nursing procedures, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting as observed by the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager, and patient/family feedback unless otherwise noted. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Plans, implements and evaluates individualized care based on patient assessment, medical plan of care and the age and/or thedevelopmental stages of the patient. Performs nursing procedures and clinical tasks specific to diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients. Provides direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Responsibilities The Patient Throughput Coordinator will work with multiple entities to find and surmount the barriers to discharge of patient. This position acts as the designated liaison who facilitates and coordinates the transfer of patients into and within University Hospital. Overview About the Role The Oncology RN Clinical Care Coordinator (OCC) works collaboratively with an oncologist in delivering care to their assigned patient population. This is an outpatient position and requires oncology clinical experience and sound nursing knowledge related to the care of patients undergoing cancer treatment to assist with the education, the coordination of care, and ongoing assessment of the patient's response to treatment. The OCCC assesses patients for symptoms, clinical and psychological needs, treatment-related concerns, and barriers to care. How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. Key Responsibilities Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures. Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines. Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel. Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
