Beyond recovery care and procedural nursing, this team also accepts overflow from the Trauma Resuscitation Unit when needed to maintain trauma patient admission capacity. This team is guided by American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurse (ASPAN) Standards and maintains education/competency expectations across peri-anesthesia, trauma and critical care specialties in accordance with their role serving roughly 20 surgical/medical services. Nurses on this team must be passionate, energetic, and high-functioning professionals skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration, looking for a complex and dynamic clinical environment. As a part of the Primary Adult Resource Center for Trauma among the other Level 1 Trauma Centers in the region, this PACU is like no other.
