Works in tandem with staff to maintain unit milieu, conduct hallway and room monitoring, checking for contraband. Actively participates in the multidisciplinary healthcare team meetings, provides perinate information to aid in the development of and or revision of individualized treatment plans for patients. Serves as a patient advocate and has a good understanding of patient rights and 5150 laws. Uses available resources to address ethical issues. Embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Functions within the expectations of a professional nurse and contributes to nursing excellence standards. Job Description Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse C-Radiation Medicine specializes in providing patient-centered care for patients of all ages with malignant and non-malignant tumors that are treated with radiation and/or proton therapy. Must be knowledgeable about these highly specialized courses of treatment that employs the use of external ionizing radiation including x-rays, proton and brachytherapy using sealed sources of radioactive material. Supports and participates in cancer research approved by the Internal Review board (IRB). Performs the nursing process with minimal supervision in the outpatient clinic setting.
