Flexes between units, facilities, and patient populations based on organizational needs and staffing demands. Quickly acclimates to varying workflows, staffing models, and unit cultures while maintaining high-quality patient care. Collaborates effectively with physicians, certified nurse midwives, neonatal teams, anesthesia providers, lactation consultants, and other interdisciplinary partners. The RN collaborates with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, pediatric providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to promote safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn care. The Labor & Delivery/NTT RN is responsible for providing care to laboring patients while maintaining competency in newborn transition, stabilization, and routine newborn care following delivery. This role supports a family-centered couplet care model by providing care to both mother and newborn following delivery when clinically appropriate. Job Summary RN essential functions include, but are not limited to: assessment and reassessment, analyzing patient data, establishing goals and priorities of care, developing and implementing care plans, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, patient education, delegation of tasks, evaluation of patient outcomes, newborn transition management, and responding appropriately to maternal and neonatal emergencies.
