Job Purpose: The Primary Care Services Licensed Practical Nurse is a care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her patients within the limits of their education and the Nurse Practice Act taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. Employee is trained to care for the age specific group served in their department . Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid New York State registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Hospital approved certification in Intravenous Therapy procedures; Basic Life Support within sixty (60) days of hire. Experience: Possess current experience in venipuncture, administration of PFT’s, EKG’s, Nebulizer treatments, pulse oximetry and keyboarding . Possess free vaccine experience and familiarity with administering pediatric vaccinations. Preferred: Possess one (1) or more years’ previous Physician Office experience or previous experience in an outpatient setting. Possess current experience with Lucius/Meditech software .
