The LVN will play a critical role in the patient experience including optimizing clinic flow, providing outreach to patients, and working collaboratively with the team to create a patient centered environment. In collaboration with the physician and nursing staff, the LVN has the clinical responsibility for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. The LVN is a team player who works closely with others and who is flexible in dealing with the changing priorities. They are a self-reliant individual who synthesizes their knowledge of practice operations to problem-solve, prioritize, and facilitate complex transactions during their daily activities. They are responsible for administering medications, assisting with a variety of procedures, practicing basic assessment of patient medical and psycho-social needs, participating in patient education, and assisting medical providers in a variety of ways. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet the patient’s physiological and psychosocial developmental level and needs. The Licensed Vocational Nurse has excellent oral and written communication skills; can work well with minimal supervision in a complex, fast pace and challenging environment.
