Description UNC Medical Center is hiring New Grad Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery Unit team! This is a 36 hour/week position, day/night and weekend rotating, with flexible preferred scheduling. We provide care to recently transferred TICU patients, as well as admits from the Trauma ED, PACU, and elective orthopedic cases to include Knees, Hips, Shoulder joint replacements, along with single system orthopedic elective surgeries. 5 South is a fast-paced environment that requires critical thinking, time-management, and teamwork. We work collaboratively with RN’s, LPNs, and techs to provide the highest level of care to our patients. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures and shares care plan during the time of care and at the time of discharge. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Fosters a growth mindset through seeking mentorship, remaining open to coaching and feedback, and maintaining professional certification(s)/licensure in order to perpetually develop and uphold the skills required for proficiency within the nursing profession. Develops a professional career plan and establishes personal, performance goals in alignment with enterprise-wide metrics, frequently measuring progress with department leadership.
