The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Wound Care functions as a generalist provider to the patient population, specifically those afflicted with wounds, ostomies, or continence disorders. The NP practices in a collaborative relationship with the Medical Director of the Wound and Ostomy Program utilizing agreed upon protocols. Through expert skills, the NP is a leader in coordinating resources to facilitate achievement of optimum health and wellness for each patient. Job Description The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. A Nurse Practitioner’s practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients. Schedule includes both 8-Hour Day Shift and Night Shift (16-Hours). Responsible to the medical director and the chief nursing officer (CNO) and functions as an integral part of the medical team.
