This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative, patient-focused group while enjoying a balanced schedule and supportive work environment.Highlights of the Role• Flexible Schedules: Option for 12-hour shifts or 8-hour shifts• No Call Requirements – enjoy your personal time without after-hours interruptions• Multi-Site Role: Work between our Joliet location and Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago• Collaborative Team Environment: Work alongside experienced gastroenterologists and support staff• State-of-the-Art Facilities with advanced GI diagnostic and treatment capabilities Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive GI care alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians and support staff.• Conduct initial assessments, follow-ups, and manage inpatient consults and outpatient follow-up visits.• Assist with procedures and ensure continuity of care.• Collaborate closely with attending gastroenterologists to optimize patient outcomes.• Participate in care coordination, documentation, and patient education. Qualifications • Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in Illinois.• Strongly preferred: 1+ year of experience in Gastroenterology or inpatient medicine .• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive medical team.• EMR proficiency (experience with Epic is a plus). The ideal candidate will support our board-certified gastroenterologists in providing high-quality, patient-centered care for a wide range of digestive health conditions. This role is 100% inpatient. Location: Gastropark Ridge offers a welcoming environment with modern facilities, convenient access to major highways, and a diverse patient population. Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and medical histories on GI patients in the hospital • Call responsibility involved- to be discussed during interview• Order and interpret diagnostic tests related to gastrointestinal conditions.• Manage chronic GI disorders such as GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and more.• Collaborate closely with GI physicians in outpatient and inpatient settings.• Perform follow-up care and education for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.• Provide pre- and post-procedural counseling and medication management.• Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system.
