Makes medical diagnoses and institute appropriate therapy within the applicable scope and standards of practice.15% Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's condition to determine and implement treatment plans.10% Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn. This role is ideal for someone interested in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the thoracic oncology continuum, from diagnosis through treatment and long-term follow-up. The APP will work closely with dedicated thoracic surgeons and a multidisciplinary team, including fellow APPs, to care for patients with complex thoracic conditions. This includes lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal and chest wall disease, and metastatic disease to the lungs. The position includes a mix of outpatient clinic care, perioperative management, and first assisting in the operating room when needed, in both shared and independent settings.
