To be considered for the role, please apply at the following link: Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an advanced practice provider position (ARNP/PA-C) available as a Teaching Associate. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month services periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is full-time with an anticipated start date is August 2026 or soon thereafter. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The base salary range for this position will be: $10,834 - $12,500 per month ($130,008 - $150,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary pain team at the Center for Pain Relief at University of Washington Medical Center—Roosevelt, the primary site of outpatient pain management at UW. The Center for Pain Relief utilizes a collaborative approach between physicians (primarily from anesthesiology, but may also be from family/internal medicine, neurology, PM&R, and psychiatry), pain psychologists, advanced practice providers (APPs), and clinical pharmacists. The successful candidate will see patients independently, though each patient is also assigned an attending physician for periodic review. Duties include the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex chronic pain problems, including relevant medical and psychological conditions. Other specific pain-related duties may include but are not limited to prescription and oversight of chronic opioid therapy and care coordination. There may be some involvement in oversight of specific pain treatments such as lidocaine infusions or capsaicin patch application and post-procedure follow up after outpatient pain interventions. Some training may be required. Qualifications Must have a graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant program. Must be a nationally certified ARNP/PA. Must obtain state of Washington ARNP or PA licensure by start of appointment. Job Description Harborview Medical Center Inpatient Acute Care Float APP (ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant) This opening is for 100% FTE, Days; (and with weekend and holiday coverage, and with the potential for some night shifts). The Inpatient Acute Care Float APP team is composed of licensed physician assistants and nurse practitioners who are skilled and trained to work across multiple services at Harborview (currently including General Surgery, Medicine Polytrauma Service, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, & Burns). Float APPs possess the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and provide comprehensive care. They play a critical role, filling in when there are staffing shortages, leaves and fluctuating demands. Job Description Harborview Medical Center APP, Inpatient Neurology (ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant) This opening is for a 100% FTE, day shift position with weekend and holiday coverage, no calls, and potential for night coverage in the future. $10,000 Recruitment Incentive/Sign-On Bonus for eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Join Harborview Medical Center's neurology inpatient service as Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant). Under general administrative supervision of the Assistant Director for APPs, the APP provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs. Work is performed in the inpatient units 7 days a week with decision-making responsibility under the guidance of the attending physicians and/or the Associate Medical Director. Independence in practice and decision-making will be granted depending on training and experience. Guidelines include general policy procedures and practice guidelines established by the service and Harborview Medical Center, as well as appropriate professional and technical manuals. A Fred Hutch Cancer Center ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of multiple service lines of adult oncology patients at our community site at Northwest Hospital. They will actively coordinate the complex care of cancer patients undergoing both systemic anti-cancer therapy and radiation therapy. The incumbent will manage side-effects of these therapies, order appropriate laboratory and radiographic studies; prescribe medications and refer patient to other specialists as necessary. The incumbent may provide for post-treatment cancer patients follow-up visits for the medically indicated period after completion of treatment. The incumbent will also provide psychological support to patients by participating in patient and/or family teaching and refer patients to community agencies and other resources to promote optimal adjustment and functioning. This position requires the ability to lead other clinical staff, be accountable for the work required in this position, the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment, and the relentless pursuit of excellent patient centered care. This clinic provides a broad range of services including GI, Lung, GU, Breast, and Hematologic Malignancies and Radiation therapy. Responsibilities Performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s Evaluates and manages on-treatment and post-treatment side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues. Performs procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care. Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education Communicates effectively with the teams Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required. Washington state licensure required. DEA required at time of credentialing ACLS required within 3 months of start date. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. EMR experience required. Strong team player with a can-do attitude is a must. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential. Preferred: 1 year of ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology preferred The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984.00 to $200,678.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Serves as a direct primary health care provider in the capacity of a credentialed Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services to patients ranging in ages from infant through geriatric within a variety of primary health care clinics at a military medical treatment facility (MTF).
