Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with OH Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Ohio. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers. Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc. Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified Experience working in a long-term care setting. Position Overview We are seeking an exceptional Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to serve as a remote consultant supporting correctional healthcare teams nationwide. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing complex wounds, exercises outstanding clinical judgment, and is comfortable making timely, evidence-based recommendations independently while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and facility medical teams. Key Responsibilities Review patient consultations and provide evidence-based wound care recommendations through our proprietary consultation platform. Develop practical treatment recommendations utilizing approved formularies and available resources within correctional settings, including guidance on advanced wound management, infection prevention, offloading, vascular evaluation, and appropriate use of wound care products. Collaborate with facility physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in quality assurance initiatives, clinical outcome reviews, and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with development of clinical protocols, educational content, and customer training initiatives. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
