Description A nurse practitioner is certified under section 6910 of the New York State Education Law and licensed as a registered nurse. A nurse practitioner provides acute/primary health care in accordance with written policies approved by nursing and medical administration. Responsibilities 1. Develops and implements a collaborative practice agreement in the specific clinical area and performs a periodic review of the collaborative agreement. 2. Assesses the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination. 3. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists physician/provider by rooming patients and documenting signs/symptoms, vital signs and BMI, reviews and documents medical, surgical, and family histories, medications and any other pertinent information the provider needs to make an informed decision regarding the patient’s care and plan of treatment.
