Handles all “sharps” in a safe and protective manner in consideration of self and others in supportive roles, such as Core Techs, environmental services, and CPD staff. Participates in “time-outs” prior to the start of surgical procedures according to hospital policy guidelines. Verifies medications, concentrations, expiration dates of all medications received on the sterile field in concert with the circulating RN.
