Perform work that involves numerous steps and techniques that require the use of professional judgment. Operate cell separators and other equipment while caring for patients undergoing apheresis procedures. Provide care to patients with varying levels of acuity and age, ranging from outpatients to highly acute inpatients. Supervise designated laboratory staff as directed. Current license to practice professional nursing in Iowa. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions. General computer skills are required. Proven capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while actively collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team. The community nurse will assess and monitor ongoing medical, psychiatric and social needs. They will coordinate with the psychiatric nurse practitioner as well as other providers in the ACT team and any external supports and providers. This position does require travel through the service area : Henry, Des Moines, Lee, Louisa and Washington.
