Recognizing the needs of the adults and pediatric populations are distinct, for more than 25 years, VCU Medical Center has provided pediatric emergency medicine services, in a separate space, dedicated to the unique needs of children with urgent and emergent health care needs and their families. Adjacent to Adult Emergency Department, the 10,000-square-foot Pediatric Emergency Department (Pediatric ED), provided 21,818 discreet patient visits in Fiscal Year 2019, leading to 3,949 admissions. Approximately 500 of the patients received care following a trauma, making the VCU Medical Center Pediatric ED the busiest pediatric trauma service in the region. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 48-bed quaternary care unit and the only Level IV NICU in Washington that receives referrals from four states: Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WAMI). It is unique from a traditional NICU as many of the patients have congenital diagnoses requiring specialized pre-operative surgical and postoperative surgical care. Critically ill neonates with complex medical issues are also cared for in this unit. Specialized care provided includes ECMO/ECLS, cooling, in-room surgical procedures, high frequency oscillatory ventilation, use of inhaled nitric oxide, etc. The NICU charge nurse responds to all Code Blue events in the hospital. A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for a given population based upon age specific and cultural needs. This is done in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach embracing quality and safety. Assures quality of care by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital philosophies and standards of care set by Arizona State Board of Nursing, , and other governing agency regulations. Coordinates the delivery of patient care for the Rehab Unit, facilitates problem solving with staff members and communicates necessary issues to nursing administration and the Program Manager. Clinical Manager (Registered Nurse) – Home Health & Group Homes Position Summary The Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical operations across home health services and affiliated group home locations. This role requires a highly experienced Registered Nurse with strong knowledge of OASIS, care planning, and regulatory compliance. The Clinical Manager serves as the primary clinical point of contact for staff, patients, families, and physicians, ensuring high-quality, coordinated care delivery.
