Uses specialized equipment and supplies safety and effectively, with adaptations according to patient age, size, and developmental needs. ​Manages Swan-Ganz, arterial, and CVP lines and applies appropriate intervention as needed. ​ Effectively manages ventilators, troubleshooting issues as they arise. Collaborates with respiratory therapy practitioners and physicians in the care of intubated patients. Demonstrates knowledge of weaning parameters. ​Administers vasoactive, antiarrhythmic, inotropic, sedative and paralytic agents per policy and unit standard. ​ Applies best practices to the care of sedated patients, minimizing the potential for injury.
