This role supports cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (EP), and basic interventional radiology (IR) services for both inpatient and outpatient populations within a community‑based hospital setting. As part of an ODH Level II Cardiovascular Lab , the RN delivers safe, evidence‑based care in alignment with established Level II practice standards. Responsibilities include pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedural nursing care, patient assessment and monitoring, medication administration, hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN participates in STEMI care , including a required STEMI call rotation, and demonstrates strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to respond effectively in emergent situations. This role requires a commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high‑reliability practices across all procedural areas. Some of the most common cancer diagnoses on the unit are breast, lung, and GI cancers, but a myriad of cancer diagnosis are common. The patients typically have had a complicated medical history and cancer journey. Many of the patients have undergone multiple treatment modalities. Due to the diversity of cancer and medical diagnoses as well as the range of treatment modalities seen, the nurses on this unit gain a varied and extensive set of skills. Nurses on this unit must be able to gain and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge in order to care for this patient population. This unit demonstrates Relationship Based Care in that the staff and management team highly value the care of the patient, care of self, and care of colleagues. The nurse functions as a part of a multidisciplinary team including RNs, PCAs, Physicians, PAs/NPS, Social Workers, and Patient Care Resource Managers.
