Overview Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado’s largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Denver Division. This position may be scheduled at one of the following locations: Denver Rose Medical Center Campus Denver Midtown Lone Tree Skyridge Medical Center This role is eligible for mileage reimbursement. Responsibilities Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician. Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures. Completes all chemotherapy charge forms. Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies. Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage. Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management. Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices. Administers all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Displays appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications to include, but not limited to, venipuncture, central line access and infusion devices, programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery, and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home. Documents nursing assessments, patient teaching and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart. Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician. Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart. Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material Qualifications Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred. How you make a difference In their role, the Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. They work closely with the Medical Director to promote high standards of care and support the professional development of nursing staff to provide quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and manages budgets, policies, and procedures to align with facility goals and objectives. Organizes service delivery, manage resources, and collaborate with other departments, facilities, persons served, families, and visitors. Leads quality improvement activities, provides direct supervision, and serves as a resource and consultant to nursing staff. Monitors safety issues, evaluate service delivery and staff growth, and adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge of risk management, clinical precautions, infection control, fall prevention, utilization of special procedures, environmental checks, fire disaster procedures, and alternatives to use with regards to seclusion/restraint methods. Job Description The Charge Nurse directs, coordinates, and supervises care services provided by care associates for the senior residents.
