A typical day we care for 50-70 patients. We also provide post anesthesia recovery care for those patients being discharged home the “same day” as their procedure. Within our department is a regional block program where patients receive sedation by our moderate sedation trained nurses while being administered a preoperative block before going into the OR for most commonly a joint replacement. Preadmission Services that utilize our program include but are not limited to orthopedics, gynecology, plastics, ENT, vascular, urology, radiology, cardiology and thoracic surgery. We are looking for experienced nurses that are team players and want to work in a busy 34 bed Same Day Surgery Program (SDP). Shifts are 10 hours between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:30 pm. Nurses must have current acute care hospital experience. Critical Care experience and IV skills are a plus. Same Day Program consists of an energetic and enthusiastic group of professionals that are engaged in sharing their knowledge of perioperative services! Supports the department’s Shared Governance structure and is accountable for quality improvement outcomes. Education/Experience/Licensure Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required or must be actively enrolled in a program. Termination of a program without degree completion, will remove eligibility for the role. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in an acute care setting required. Must be at a clinical level that reflects proficiency and in-depth knowledge of nursing practice. Licensure: License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of New Hampshire required.
