General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience: Two (2) years inpatient RN experience. Critical care experience preferred. Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Possession of a valid temporary license or permanent license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse prior to entrance on duty. Permanent license must be obtained within 3 months of appointment. BLS required upon hire. Additional certifications may be required based on department assignment, see attached for details. The ICU cares for a wide variety of critical patients with complex medical conditions- including respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and prolonged intermittent renal replacement therapy. The ICU team works in collaboration with the dedicated stroke unit to provide award winning advanced stroke care. We maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease. Common cardiac procedures/diagnosis seen in ICU include post open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. Daily care and responsibilities may include managing various life-support systems including ventilation, heart monitoring, and lifesaving medications.
