The 32-bed inpatient unit admits children of all ages with hematological and/or oncology, and blood and marrow transplant inpatient clinical needs. Significant Populations Include Newly diagnosed oncology diseases (leukemia/lymphoma, solid tumors, neuro oncology) Chemotherapy Sickle cell disease Pain crisis in hemoglobinopathy Fever/neutropenia Bacteremia Anemia/blood disorders Acute chest syndrome/pneumonia Thrombocytopenia Blood and marrow and hematopoectic stem cell transplantation About The Role All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice.
