Methodist’s Adult Med/Surg unit (B5/C5) is a 26-bed unit provides 24-hour care to acutely ill patients. We are a medical unit that cares for patients with a variety of medical diagnosis, including renal disease, diabetes management, wound management, pain management, and vascular access issues; supporting patients varying from young adult to the geriatric age group. This unit is the designated unit for providing all Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) for Methodist Hospital. This unit also embodies an additional unit, B5, a 5-bed End of life care unit that is dedicated to the care of patients at the end of life, including both palliative and hospice care. Shift: Part Time - Weekends Only / Days This position currently qualifies for a NEW hourly wage differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials. More details about this differential will be provided during the interview process. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, assisting during retinal procedures, monitoring patient safety, obtaining Prior Authorizations / Appeals, and providing education on treatment plans and post-procedure care. The RN administers medications, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures compliance with infection prevention and safety standards. This role collaborates with physicians and clinic staff to support efficient workflow and deliver an exceptional patient experience. The RN is also expected to support broader ambulatory operations by floating as needed across clinic areas, assisting with general Ambulatory Clinic needs, and supporting communication workflows such as message pools. This is a full-time, day shift position M-F 8-4:30pm. Qualifications: Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies. Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner. Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
