As a Home Infusion Nurse you will… Challenge your clinical nursing (RN) skills by receiving continuous training on leading edge technology and clinical requirements in specialty infusion. Certification and recertification expenses can be reimbursed for eligible RN’s such as Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion (CRNI®)! Provide a broad range of infusion therapies in our patients’ homes Make a difference by using your clinical IV experience and personal touch to assist our patients recover in the comfort of their own home. Provide one-on-one home infusion nursing care visits and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment. Additional licensure may be required in multi state service areas Have excellent written and verbal customer service skills in order to interact with the patient, physician, pharmacist and other partners. Partner with the Sales Team during the first year to increase referrals and increase patient census. Activities include visiting providers' offices in the Omaha area with members of our Sales Team to provide additional clinical details, or follow-up with the provider after a patient visit to share the outcome. There will be NO sales goals in this role. Strickly serving in a supportive capacity with our marketing efforts in the territory. Schedule: Part-time position working approximately 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday. The hours will primarily be during the day, but can go into the early evening at times (e.g., 6:00, or 7:00). The unit is part of UI Health Care's Medical Surgical Services (MSS) Division. Lower Level features 30 private patient rooms and is designed to care for patients admitted to UI Health Care under observation or recovery level of care, with a focus on timely treatment. The patient population cared for on this unit includes both medical and surgical patient populations who are typically admitted to the hospital for an estimated 24-48 hour stay. The Emergency Department is divided into five major zones: Major trauma and critical care, Resuscitation and minor care, Pediatrics, Acute care, and Rapid Care. There are two distinct waiting areas, one for pediatric patients and their families, and the other for all other visitors. There are 7 negative flow rooms, one of which is also an isolation room. Clinical and clerical workstations, nutrition areas, and supply and pharmaceutical dispensing machines are centrally located in each zone. A dedicated radiology suite, including 2 CTs, a DECONTAMINATION suite with a separate entrance, as well as a satellite lab are also located within the Emergency Department. In 2017, it is anticipated that Albany Medical Center will open a Level II Pediatric Emergency Department with 15 exam/treatment areas, 2 trauma resuscitation rooms, and a pediatric observation unit. Each ambulatory patient is initially evaluated at the triage. Patients arriving via EMS are directed to the appropriate patient care room by the flow facilitator during peak hours. Acute psychiatric services are referred to the Psychiatric Crisis Unit at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. Being an intermediate unit, our patients do require more care than provided on acute medical/surgical unit. The unit also staffs Respiratory Therapists 24/7. The other 6 beds serve Palliative Care patients. These patients consist of a wide range of diagnoses with varying treatment plans. Some are cancer patients receiving pain and symptom management, whereas other patients are receiving end of life care. Our staff will sometimes work in tandem with outside hospice agencies for actively dying patients.
