Job Details Description Position Summary: Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable to perform comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and/or evaluation of complex multisystem health care deficits; to direct the nursing care of unstable patients or patients requiring complex care management. Handles multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating clinical problem solving skills. Job Requirements The Home Training PD Registered Nurse evaluates and trains the dialysis facility’s home peritoneal dialysis patients, care partners and families for the home dialysis program. This position exercises knowledge of patient rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment. Position must demonstrate familiarity with peritoneal dialysis equipment, procedures and the knowledge, skills, and judgement necessary to assume the responsibility of caring for the dialysis patient. Work Experience Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure. Twelve (12) months of experience in nursing. Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements. Additional three (3) months of experience in the specific modality unless otherwise specified in specific state regulations. Documented training and experience in peritoneal dialysis and/or home hemodialysis and maintenance of the dialysis access. Basic training certificates if less than one (1) year in this modality. Previous supervisory and teaching experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current CPR Certification Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
