Surgical Technologist Coordinator

Location: Parkland: 3rd FLR BLK 400 Primary Purpose Works with OR Leadership, RN Unit Based Educator, and OR RN Residency Educator to ensure that staff functioning in the scrub role are appropriately trained and operating within the guidelines set forth by various industry standards and regulations including, but not limited to AST, AORN, The Joint Commission, FDA, CDC, OSHA, AAMI, and those of Parkland. The Medical Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), or Physician, assisting with a range of clinical and administrative tasks such as administering vaccines, conducting EKGs, recording vital signs, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient care. Perform phlebotomy services. Assist with collection of specimens. Perform labeling and logging of specimens in compliance with hospital standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: A completed High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited body A current certificate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training Must have phlebotomy experience Experience working in a community health setting Completion of a certified/registered program for medical assistants that is recognized by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Graduate of a certified program for Medical Assistants (CMA credential) Preferred Qualifications: Considerable skill in communicating verbally, in determining priorities and in organizing work; ability to maintain an organized, alphabetized filing system General working knowledge of PC.
