Administers medications in a safe and proper manner including all aspects of moderate sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and complications management. Understands patient monitoring principles including the ability to recognize and react appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias from the cardiac monitor. Understands oxygen therapy, manage an airway for resuscitation and manage all available forms of oxygen delivery devices. Maintains all forms of Point of Care Testing equipment and the ability to perform testing and/or quality control measures. Operates and troubleshoots the pulsimeter, maintains the Non-invasive Blood Pressure unit, Defibrillator/cardiac monitor and the ability to perform monitoring and/or quality control procedures.
