Secondary, this unit manages critical care needs for patients admitted to the Trauma/ACCS/Geriatric Trauma Surgery teams, Orthopedic-Spine/Recon/Hand etc. teams as well as Vascular Surgery and other overflow teams. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Act as a consultant to external health care personnel about clinical apheresis. Coordinate closely with physicians and nurses at a variety of hospitals to arrange therapeutic apheresis treatments and facilitate coordinated care. Evaluate patient medication for compatibility and safety of apheresis procedure and determine when to contact the physician. You will coordinate services, connect resources, and develop care plans that reflect each patient’s unique needs.
