Description The Clinical Nurse for the Mount Sinai nursing float pool is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients on a variety of assigned units. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. 2. The ideal candidate is a reliable, organized, detail-oriented individual, interested in learning and applying experimental approaches in a genetic model organism (Mus musculus), including immune cell isolation, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, image analysis, animal dissection, neurobiology, and microbiology tools. The position will help the trainee increase their understanding of the scientific method by developing practical lab skills and how to evaluate scientific articles. Our CRNAs provide essential anesthesia care across main operating rooms and multiple off-site locations. Involves attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNA's knowledge base or scope of practice. (35%) Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives. (10%) Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Follows appropriate safety standards and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. (5%) Acts as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team.
