Job Description Perioperative Clinical Educator Position Summary The Perioperative Clinical Educator is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that promote clinical excellence, professional development, regulatory compliance, and patient safety throughout the perioperative continuum. This role serves as the clinical expert and educational resource for Operating Room, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Pre-Op, PACU, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, and other procedural areas. The educator collaborates with leadership, physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff competency and evidence-based practice while supporting strategic departmental goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Education Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation programs for newly hired perioperative staff. Create individualized orientation plans based on employee experience and specialty. Provide ongoing clinical education utilizing adult learning principles. Coordinate annual competency assessments for all perioperative staff. Evaluate staff competency using direct observation, simulation, return demonstrations, and competency validation tools. Maintain educational records and competency documentation. Professional Development Mentor nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia technicians, and support personnel. Promote specialty certification including: CNOR CSSM CNAMB CAPA CPAN CER CRCST Assist staff in developing professional growth plans. Coordinate continuing education offerings. This client requires full assistance with activities of daily living, including hands-on transfer assistance, and is considered a significant fall risk. We need a caregiver who understands that fall prevention requires constant awareness, close supervision, careful assistance, and proactive safety measures throughout the entire shift. The selected caregiver must be available to work all three scheduled days Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Consistent attendance is essential because the client depends on a stable routine and familiar caregivers. The client also has a small dog in the home. Applicants must be comfortable entering and working in a home with a small household pet. At Helping Hearts, caregiving is more than a job, it is a calling. Engage with patients and caregivers to provide education, support, and ensure satisfaction with care delivery. Demonstrate leadership by fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and clinical excellence. Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state(s) of practice. Wound care certification such as WOCN or equivalent recognized wound care credential preferred Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience with a strong background in wound care, preferably including in-home or post-acute care settings. Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical settings or wound care programs. BLS certification or higher. Proficiency with electronic health records and digital wound care management tools. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-home visits. Strong commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement.
