DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The Wound Care Associate) Implements and evaluates quality patient care that is consistent with the established policies and procedures of the clinic. Competently helps treat wounds of the following categories as directed by the Nurse or Wound Specialist: Venous, Arterial, Diabetic, Burns, Surgical, Neuropathic, Traumatic, Bacterial, Viral and Fungal. Is knowledgeable of the age specific attributes of the patients presenting for care. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Is responsible for making wound care decisions within his/her scope of practice (as described by licensure and/or hospital policy) relating to patient care and performing other duties and functions that include, but are not limited to those described. Utilizes effective human relations and communication skills when interfacing with physicians, practitioners, patients/families/significant others and takes positive action to resolves patient care problems.
