Job Summary Under the Supervisor of the Director, the Surgical Technician assists in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Job Requirements Minimum Education Requirement: Completion of an accredited program or formal structured program (i.e., military service) or Nursing degree (LVN/LPN) from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum Experience Requirement: Must be competent as scrub in all scrub areas. Able to independently and proficiently scrub for at least three major clinical specialties (i.e. open heart, major vascular, trauma, neuro, eyes, major ortho cases). A minimum of two years post program experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting with similar patient case load. Prior experience functioning as a preceptor for new hires. Previous experience or ability to have an active role in performance improvement projects that enhance and promote the professional growth and development of the role of the surgical technologist. Excellent customer service skills required. Minimum License Requirement: Certified Surgical Technician or California LVN license preferred. BLS required. Shift: 6:45am - 3:15pm.
