Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Delivery Room at our Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room. Schedule : This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the day shift (0630-1900) and every third weekend. About our OR at Ridges: Our 150-bed community-based hospital currently has 11 OR Rooms, averaging over 7,500 cases a year. Our OR specializes in areas including: Spine, Ortho, OB-GYN, General, ENT, Plastic, Urology, and Da Vinci. Our call response time is 30 minutes and it is a weekend Increased flexibility! Limited Call schedule (1 out of 6 weekends) As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for: Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens. Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank and M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital locations in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening on the weekend shift, Saturday and Sunday 12 hour day shift, 0700-1900. The West Bank has 15 operating rooms, 1 EP Lab, and 1 Cath Lab. We are performing an average of 36 cases per day. High Volume Ortho/Spine/Oral (mainly adults), Peds CV-Hearts/Cardio Thoracic Peds, Neuro/Generals/Urology/Bariatrics, Peds Transplant, Adult Urology, Benign GYN, ENT/Eye/Plastics, Peds Dental, Robotic DaVinci. We provide innovative surgical suites for adult and pediatric patients needing surgical intervention. We are currently renovating additional ORs to complement the existing 4 larger ORs, as well as creating new locker room and OR storage space. Our strong team is continuing to grow even stronger as we offer cross service training under the guidance of our scrub tech supervisor and scrub tech educator. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Perioperative Services, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for filling the surgical scrub role on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competencies in each surgical specialty. Assists physicians and nurses in various medical and technical procedures. These functions must be in compliance with the philosophy of the hospital, standards of practice and regulations of governing agencies.
