Anticipate needs of surgeon and surgical assistants in the operating room, passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed in an operative procedure. Demonstrate an ability to perform all duties required of a Surgical Technologist in accordance with established procedures and completion of skills check list. Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to changes in room or duty assignments. Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Completion of Health First’s On-The-Job Training Program for Surgical Technician, OR graduate of a program for Surgical Technologist (Military, Community College, or School for Surgical Technology), OR one year of work experience as a surgical tech or surgical assistant. Licensure: None Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Skills (BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion prior to start date and maintain in active status. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technologist Work Experience: One year of experience as a surgical technologist or surgical assistant PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically agile; may require walking, standing running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing or crouching frequently. Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without assistance. May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to loud noise.
