Job Summary and Qualifications As the Surgical Technologist, you will be an active member of the team in the Operating Room. The Surgical Technologist functions under the direct supervision of the OR nurse. This role is responsible for the sterile field, instrumentation, sterile technique, and other tasks required during the procedure. What you will do in this role: D emonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. P romote customer service initiatives. F unction as scrub person during operative procedures. D emonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures. A ssist in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned D eliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program required . Certification as a Surgical Technologist require d . Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months of graduation). Upon graduation, verification of completion of requirements will be verified. Failure to complete graduation requirements can result in termination of the position. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds . Job Summary and Qualifications What You Will Do in This Role: The role of the OR Tech II is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment , and supplies. The OR Tech II in 701 Surgery provides care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies , and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure . The OR Tech II understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The OR Tech II has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. When the OR Tech II is in the second scrub role, they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera . This role is distinct from that of the first scrub and surgical first assistant. What Qualifications You Will Need: Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred. Your responsibilities will include: Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (ST) Surgical Technologist Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate CST Required HCA HealthONE, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region, offers more than 170 care sites in the Denver metro area.
