Position Overview
We are looking for two dedicated Registered Nurses to join the school health team in the Shiprock area for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this role, you won't just be providing clinical care; you will be a key advocate for student health, helping to shape and implement health policies that ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Nursing Care: Use the nursing process (assessment, planning, and evaluation) to address students' social, physical, and psychological health factors.
Program Leadership: Participate in the planning and evaluation of district health programs in strict accordance with New Mexico state regulations.
Advocacy & Communication: Act as a bridge between students, families, medical providers, and school staff to ensure health needs are met with discretion and sensitivity.
Case Management: Handle confidential information regarding student health records and school health policies with the highest level of professional ethics.
Schedule & Duration
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Contract: Full school year (August 2026 May 2027).
Setting: On-site placement at a specific district school (to be determined).
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Associates or Bachelors degree (or higher) in Nursing.
RN Licensure: Active Registered Nurse License issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
School Certification: Must possess (or be eligible for) a Professional School Nurse License issued by the State of New Mexico.
Attributes: Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive/controversial health information with professional discretion.
