Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care for a female student in kindergarten, attending to her Type 1 diabetes needs and ensuring her health and safety
  • Remain present during her school hours:
    • Extended School Year (ESY): July 6, 2026 August 14, 2026, Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM
    • Regular School Year (NSY): September 8, 2026 June 24, 2027, Monday to Friday, 9:15 AM to 3:45 PM
  • Support the student with medical interventions and manage any emergencies that arise
  • Provide consistent monitoring, recognizing signs and symptoms related to both her diabetes and autism
  • Serve as a key liaison for health-related information between the school, family, and outside providers
  • Maintain a nurturing environment without serving in an instructional or teaching capacity
