Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Labor & Delivery Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion. Everyday you will be a part of the the recovery and postpartum which includes supporting families that are celebrating the arrival of a newborn and showing compassion and guidance during challenging moments. To be successful in this role, you must remain calm and sensitive to help people through this huge milestones in their lives. Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc. Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring. Educate patients on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages. Assess newborns and provide care. Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family. The Oncology Nursing Float Pool Clinic RNs will work within all domains of outpatient cancer services (clinics, BMT, Radiation Oncology) to provide competent, confident patient care excellence in coverage of FMLAs or leaves greater than 2 weeks. These positions require dynamic, experienced oncology RNs with previous oncology and/or infusion experience, exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, and families in the application of top of license care, including but not limited to: assessment, care coordination planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient/family education. Expected float locations: Encinitas, Vista, La Jolla Moores Cancer Center & KOP, Hillcrest, and Rancho Bernardo. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Minimum two (2) years of Hematology, Oncology, and/or BMT experience required. Experience in a fast-paced, high acuity outpatient environment with vulnerable patients. Care Coordination experience.
